OUR HISTORY
Internationals from all over the world have come to Louisville. They come from all walks of life. They are students, healthcare workers, business people, and refugees. Many bring their families with them. Others have come because they have family who already live here in the area.
Internationals have been coming to our city for a long time. In 1975, Baptist women of Long Run Baptist Association (now known as the Louisville Regional Baptist Association) saw a need in our growing international community and responded with a program called "Friendship International Ministry". Each year, the number of internationals enrolling in the program increases.
Through Friendship International Ministry, internationals from every part of the world have learned English, Bible, citizenship, and creative activities such as scrapbooking, crafts, quilting, crocheting, cooking, knitting, and sewing. The most important goal is FRIENDSHIP.
Friendships established in the program may last a lifetime.
